I studied for my Bachelor degree in Economics at the University of Warwick. Not long after graduating, I started at Hastings as a Graduate Pricing Analyst in the Renewals Motor Pricing Team within the Commercial department.
There are many fantastic things I’ve found since I’ve been at Hastings. My highlights include the exposure I’ve had with senior stakeholders, the work I’ve been involved in and how much I’ve learnt. The culture here is fast paced but everyone is extremely helpful as well as fun and enthusiastic. Hard work is also well recognised and rewarded.
As an analyst, my day is often varied and can involve extracting and analysing data to drive insights, building statistical models for prediction and eventually proposing changes that make a difference. I find it’s really exciting when you can track your ideas making real impact.
Hastings is a growing company which provides unending exposure and opportunities. The people I met in my interview were friendly and enthusiastic which was a big positive for me to join. Unlike some graduate programs, the scheme is flexible and great if you have a thirst for knowledge and learning. Rather than following a stringent framework, you can explore areas at times that suit you, rather than within a specific programme timetable. This allows you to explore, grow and become a specialist in the specific area.
