As part of our Go Green programme and commitment to being a more sustainable business, we've been taking part in Plastic Free July for the second year running.
Further reducing waste is an ongoing focus at Hastings, and here are just some of the steps we've taken to reduce single use plastic and its impact on the environment:
- Removing all single-use coffee cup, plastic drink bottles, and plastic containers from our onsite canteens, saving approximately 178,000 plastic products from entering waste streams so far.
- We carry out regular litter picks and cleans on our section of adopted beach, reporting the amounts and types of plastics to the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) helping them campaign for change.
- Colleagues have been getting involved by taking on our home and workplace plastic audit challenges.
